Onward Christian soldiers (and musicians)!

To be sure, there are some similarities between Christian musicians and soldiers.

And since on every November 11, we honor our veterans who have stood ready to defend freedom to live our lives according to the U.S. Constitution, which includes freedom of religion and the right to boldly proclaim Christ and to talk about Him openly in the public marketplace, let us not forget the spiritual warriors in the battle between evil forces and good.

Now I'm not saying that Christian musicians are the only ones in the battle for the Kingdom of God to prevail against wickedness. Preachers, missionaries and evangelists often lead the charge and the little old church lady person who bakes cookies for Sunday school are just as much troopers as anyone else in the Body of Christ. But there are specific dangers to musicians who evangelize (or evangelists who make music) that I wrote about here. So whether it's a ministry or a show, it's still a war we are all in until we pass into glorious eternity or until Christ returns according to Paul. Ephesians 6:12

Maybe the best way to think about Christian musician roles in the battle between evil and good is to remember and recognize those in the USO who have taken risks to join troops in the battlefield to entertain them and to boost their morale, which is equal to equipping the saints. Who can deny that listening to or singing their favorite Christian songs in church or in the car works wonders for the heaven bound soul bogged down in the frustrations of a fallen world? So to all military and Christian musical veterans, Christian Musicians Alive offers a fist bump and a salute. Thank you all for your service.
