Read their story below and listen to their great small room sound. It will make true believers out of you!
Please tell us about your musical journey in Christ. How long have you been making music? Any formal training? Professional experience?
We started our band during COVID (2020), so our journey has been one patience and trusting on the Lord’s timing. John, our lead singer comes from a career as a secular musician early in life and now uses his God given talent to bring glory to the kingdom. Dehlia, John’s wife had more classical musical training as a child, picked up the bass a few years ago and with the tutelage of her husband hasn’t looked back. Jeremy Van Nostern, who plays drums for Thetrubelievers completes this power trio.
What music inspires you the most (Christian or secular)? Name your favorites.
Rush, 3rd Day, Boston
How has making music made a difference in your Christian walk?
Using music to spread the word of Jesus Christ. I can sing it better than I can talk about it. This is how I express my love for my Lord and Savior.
What do you do to stay sharp with your God given skills? Do you have a daily routine?
We rehearsal as a band a few times a week, but what makes the biggest impact is being grateful every day for all the Lord has given us. Never losing sight of why we are doing this allows us to put in the work at home between rehearsals.
What projects are you working on now? What are your hopes for them?
We are currently working on releasing a lyric video for our song “If We.” We are also trying to get into the summer 2022 Festival line up in the Washington State area. This area doesn’t have a lot of Christian artists, and we hope our music is able to bring truth and light to the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
What is your favorite Bible verse that inspires you to praise God through music?
Philippians 1:6
Let us know where we can follow you and your music and give us any last words of encouragement, advice or anything else you wish to add.
